The Management of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, has announced the Faculty of Social Science Education as the cleanest and neatest faculty on campus. The award was presented following a meticulous selection process carried out by the Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance and approved by the University Management.

At the award ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim Olatunde Salawu, commended the initiative as part of the university's ongoing efforts to maintain cleanliness and promote a healthy environment. “An empirical assessment was done across all faculties, evaluating parameters such as waste disposal, care of the physical environment, toilet facilities, and lecture rooms,” Professor Salawu stated.

The competition results placed the Faculty of Arts Education 5th with 50.3 marks, the Faculty of Vocational, Engineering and Innovation Education 4th with 58.3 marks, and the Faculty of Science Education 3rd with 69 marks. The Faculty of Specialised and Professional Education secured 2nd place with 73 marks, while the Faculty of Social Science Education emerged 1st with 79.6 marks.

In recognition of their achievement, the Faculty of Social Science Education was awarded ₦100,000, while the second and third place faculties received ₦75,000 and ₦50,000 respectively.

Dr. Solomon Okediji, Director of Internal Quality Assurance and Chairman of the Selection Committee, praised the university’s initiative and urged all faculties to continue striving for cleanliness. “Cleanliness is next to godliness, and we will continue to uphold the vision of this exercise,” he remarked.

Dignitaries at the event included the Director of Internal Quality Assurance, Sub-Deans, Faculty Officers, and members of the Selection Committee.
