Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) received commendations from faculty deans for its adoption of a decentralized system during the 42nd matriculation ceremony earlier this year. The initiative, introduced by Vice-Chancellor Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, aimed to enhance coordination within individual faculties, eliciting widespread approval from stakeholders.

Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Nicholas Attamah, lauded the Vice-Chancellor as a proactive leader, dubbing him "Talk-and-do VC" for his innovative approach. Professor Attamah highlighted the positive impact of the decentralized system, emphasizing increased interaction between students, parents, and faculty members. He stressed that the initiative not only deepened understanding of the matriculation process but also fostered closer ties among stakeholders.

Similarly, Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Professor Austine Emenike, echoed these sentiments, describing the decentralized system as a significant policy shift that facilitated meaningful engagement between parents, students, and faculty. Professor Emenike emphasized the importance of retaining the system, citing potential improvements in student-faculty relationships and infrastructure development if continued.
