Senator Professor Nora Ladi Daduut, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has pledged continued support for quality education in Nigeria. Speaking during a thanksgiving Mass held in her honor at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kwalla, Plateau State, Daduut reaffirmed her dedication to making education accessible to all, especially the underprivileged.
The event, held to celebrate her appointment as FUTA’s Pro-Chancellor by the Federal Government, saw Daduut emphasize the vital role of education in national development. “Education is the bedrock of any nation’s development, and we must make it attractive to everyone, especially the underprivileged,” she stated.
A former senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly, Daduut also highlighted the importance of investing in girl-child education, stressing its potential to drive societal progress. “Educating the girl-child provides a platform for her to become an advocate and catalyst for positive change,” she noted.
While commending the government’s efforts to enhance the education sector, Daduut urged additional support from the private sector and individuals, stating that the government alone cannot meet the educational needs of the country. She called for collective action to ensure sustainable improvements.
During the event, Reverend Father James Dasat, the Parish Priest of Saint Patrick’s Church, lauded Senator Daduut’s contributions to education and society. He praised her commitment to improving the educational landscape and encouraged her to continue being a beacon of inspiration to the younger generation.
The thanksgiving Mass was attended by family members, friends, and well-wishers, who gathered to celebrate the senator’s achievements and her dedication to the advancement of education in Nigeria.
