Nnamdi Egwu officially handed over duties to Christian Effagwu in a structured ceremony that underscored continuity, teamwork, and institutional development.

The handover event, which brought together key staff members of the department, marked the end of Engr. Egwu’s tenure and the beginning of a new administrative phase under Effagwu.
In his valedictory remarks, Engr. Egwu expressed appreciation to staff of the department for their cooperation and commitment throughout his period in office. He described his time as Director of Works and Services as a rewarding experience built on collaboration and shared responsibility.
He urged staff to extend full support to his successor, stressing that departmental progress depends largely on unity and collective effort. Addressing Effagwu directly, he encouraged him to promote inclusiveness in leadership, noting that every staff member plays a critical role in the smooth running of operations.
He also emphasised that leadership transitions are part of institutional structure and technical progression, designed to ensure continuity and improvement. He concluded by praying for wisdom, guidance, and effectiveness for the incoming director.

In his response, Christian Effagwu appreciated the outgoing director for his leadership and mentorship, noting that he was stepping into a role supported by a strong foundation. He pledged to consolidate on existing achievements while working closely with staff to enhance performance and service delivery.
Effagwu stressed the importance of unity and cooperation, stating that achieving departmental objectives would require collective responsibility and commitment from all personnel. He also expressed gratitude to the college management and the 8th Governing Council for the confidence reposed in him.
He further called for divine guidance in the discharge of his duties and extended goodwill prayers to Engr. Egwu for his service and contributions to the department.
The ceremony was attended by senior staff members including Mr. Pius Karie, Mr. Emmanuel Chukwuma Onwuoku, Engr. Michael Zegeate, Elder Kalu Okechukwu, Mr. Emmanuel Anake, Engr. Ufot Ubak, Engr. Ugemabiang Mike, and Mr. Abam Friday.

The event concluded on a collaborative and optimistic note, signaling a renewed focus on efficiency, unity, and sustained infrastructural development within the institution.
