Federal Government Appoints Dr. Samuel Akintunde, Acting VC Adeyemi Federal University of Education

The Federal Government has appointed Dr. Samuel Akintunde as the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University in fulfillment of implementation of the University status, Myschoolnews gathered.

Other Principal Officers of the University will act in acting capacity pending the appointment of Substantive Principal Officers.

It will be recalled that the Minister of Education, Prof. Mammam Tahir on 20th of October 2023 announced the conversion of the Adeyemi College of Education to Adeyemi University of Education among others Institutions with immediate effect.

According to the Minister, the establishment and conversion of these institutions is to further demonstrate President Tinubu’s determination to implement the renewed hope agenda of his administration. It is expected also that these institutions will improve access to tertiary education in the country.

The acting Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Akintunde, on till his appointment is the Provost of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo. Other Principal Officers who will be on acting capacity pending the appointment of substantive principal officers are Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede, Acting Registrar of the University; Mr. Ganiyu Olaniyi Abdul, Acting Bursar of the University and Mr. Azino Akpokuriere, the Acting University Librarian.
