Federal Government Inaugurates Committee to Probe Fake Degrees

In response to a recent investigative report exposing 'degree mills,' the Federal Government is set to establish an inter-ministerial committee to investigate these activities. The committee's inauguration, scheduled for 2 pm on Wednesday, will be led by the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman.

The revelation surfaced following an undercover journalist's report, Umar Audu, who exposed how he acquired a degree within six weeks and participated in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme.

Ben Goong, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education, confirmed the committee's formation, emphasizing the need to address the issue of fraudulent degrees.
