Federal Government Inaugurates Governing Council of Federal College of Agriculture and Technology

The Federal Government has inaugurated the Governing Council of the newly established Federal College of Agriculture and Technology, Nabanje, in Katsina State.

The Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad, emphasized the college's role in promoting agricultural education, innovation, and national development.

The college is part of President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at revitalizing the agricultural sector through human capital development, research, and innovation. The Minister stressed the need for partnerships with local communities, private sector stakeholders, and international partners to achieve the college's objectives.

The Minister urged the council to prioritize transparency, effective governance, entrepreneurship, and demand-driven research. She tasked the council with developing a five- to ten-year strategic plan in synergy with the college's management, while promoting peaceful collaboration.

The Chairman of the Council, Prof. Oluwagbemi Tai, expressed appreciation to President Tinubu, the Ministry of Education, and the National Assembly for facilitating the establishment of the college. He pledged to build a centre of excellence that will contribute to Nigeria's drive for food security, youth employment, and sustainable economic growth.
