 The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) conducted a strategic advocacy visit to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Misau, on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, aimed at bridging the housing gap for healthcare professionals.

The engagement focused on sensitising the hospital's workforce on the diverse products available under the National Housing Fund (NHF), including affordable mortgage loans, home renovation grants, and land acquisition schemes.

The FMBN delegation, led by Mr. Muhammad Bello Yahaya, highlighted that the visit was part of a broader mandate to ensure that public sector employees can transition from being tenants to homeowners. He disclosed that the Bank is finalizing frameworks that will see FMC Misau staff begin benefiting from specific housing programs in the immediate future.

Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Medical Director, the Head of Clinical Services, Dr. Yakubu Bababa Shirama, commended the FMBN for the proactive initiative. He emphasized that staff welfare, particularly housing, is a priority for the hospital management to ensure a motivated workforce.

The Head of Works, QS. Mohammed Abdulhamid, further informed the delegation that the hospital is already actively exploring partnerships to secure land and housing units for staff through the NHF scheme.

The visit concluded with a mutual commitment to fast-track the integration of FMC Misau employees into the Bank's active beneficiary pool.
