The Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti Alumni Association, led by National President Dr. Oyedokun Abiodun, has pledged N5 million to help repair extensive damage caused by a recent rainstorm to the institution's facilities.
The Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti Alumni Association, led by National President Dr. Oyedokun Abiodun, has expressed deep concern over the extensive damage caused by a recent rainstorm to the institution's facilities. During a press conference held in Ado Ekiti on Saturday, Dr. Abiodun highlighted the severe impact of the storm, which resulted in damages amounting to several million naira, although thankfully, no lives were lost.
“The damage runs into several millions of naira but thank God no life was lost. The storm was so strong that some buildings were almost pulled down,” Dr. Abiodun stated.
In response to this natural disaster, the alumni association has generously donated N5 million to assist with the repair and restoration of the affected buildings. This contribution is part of the association's ongoing commitment to supporting their alma mater.
Earlier this year, in January 2024, the alumni association handed over two newly constructed hostel blocks to the institution. Additionally, a two-storey hostel project is currently underway, aimed at addressing the accommodation challenges faced by the students.
