Federal Polytechnic Bali held an interactive session on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, where Rector Dr. Mohammed Usman met with the institution’s casual workers to address welfare concerns and operational expectations.

Dr. Usman acknowledged the essential role casual workers play in sustaining hygiene, security, and daily institutional activities. He urged unit heads and coordinators to prioritise their well-being while commending staff who consistently demonstrate diligence. He also cautioned against indiscipline and reiterated that compliance with institutional rules remains non-negotiable.
Addressing wage concerns, the Rector explained that the institution had implemented 60 percent of the previously announced increment due to financial constraints. He assured workers that efforts are underway to actualise full payment once resources permit. He further directed the enforcement of stricter security measures, including stop-and-search procedures and a regulated system for vehicle entry.

During the engagement, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim Baba, Mallam Abubakar Maisaje, and Dr. Sani Abdullahi emphasised punctuality, professionalism, and integrity as core expectations for all casual staff. Questions regarding permanent employment and NHIS access were raised, with the Rector clarifying that, although casual workers are not on the NHIS platform, they continue to access medical services on an individual basis.
The session strengthened communication between management and workers, with casual staff expressing appreciation for the Rector’s openness and pledging renewed commitment to their duties.
