In a recent decision aimed at easing financial burdens on students, the management of Federal Polytechnic Nekede has announced significant changes to fee structures and policies within the institution. During the 3rd Emergency Meeting of the Management Committee, several resolutions were reached to address the concerns raised by students regarding the cost of education.

The key decisions taken are as follows:

1. Suspension of Faculty Dues Payment: The management has suspended the payment of faculty dues, providing relief to students who previously had to bear this additional financial burden.

2. Optional Binding of Students' Projects at School Library Division: Students are now given the option to bind their projects at the School Library Division, eliminating the mandatory requirement and associated costs.

3. Reduction in Project Stamping and Submission Fee: Students pursuing National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programs will now only pay ₦1000 for the stamping and submission of their projects, significantly reducing the financial obligation previously required. Students are however mandated to present the receipts for their payments upon clearance.

4. Sustained Convocation Fee: The convocation fee for graduates of the institution has been sustained at ₦20,000 only.

5. Scrapping of Convocation Gown and Brochure Fee: The fee for the convocation gown and brochure, previously set at ₦2000, has been scrapped.

6. Reduced Fee for Letter of Proficiency: This was originally putt at ₦20,000 but now has been slashed to ₦15,000 only.

These decisions come as a response to the management's commitment to ensuring accessibility and affordability of education at Federal Polytechnic Nekede. By revising fee structures and policies, the institution aims to alleviate financial strain on students and create a conducive learning environment for all.
