Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny Announces Appointment of New Deputy Rectors

The Management of the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, has announced the appointment of two Deputy Rectors in the capacities of Academic and Administration. Engr. Dr. Binfa Bongfa has been appointed Deputy Rector (Academic), while Dr. Noel Akos assumes office as Deputy Rector (Administration).

The appointment of Deputy Rectors in Nigerian polytechnics is guided by the Federal Polytechnics Act, which stipulates a rigorous selection process to assess candidates’ academic leadership, administrative competence, integrity, and technological proficiency.

The newly appointed Deputy Rectors were found to be qualified in the following areas:

• Experience: Proven leadership in academic and administrative roles with a strong record in policy formulation and management.
• Publications: Evidence of scholarly works published in reputable journals and active participation in academic conferences.
• Professional Standing: Membership in recognized professional bodies endorsed by the Federal Government.
• Vision: A clear initiative and vision to drive institutional growth and development.
• Integrity: Sound moral character, proven integrity, and excellent physical and mental health.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

As principal officers of the Polytechnic, the Deputy Rectors will play crucial roles in supporting the Rector, representing the institution at different levels, and providing leadership in academic and administrative matters.

In his remarks, the Public Relations Officer, Anthony Ogbe (SAR)(MCAI), congratulated the new appointees on behalf of the Polytechnic community. He expressed confidence that Engr. Dr. Binfa Bongfa and Dr. Noel Akos will bring their wealth of knowledge and experience to further the development of the institution.

“On behalf of the Polytechnic, we wish the new Deputy Rectors a successful tenure as they work towards advancing the goals and vision of the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny,” Ogbe stated.
