The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, on Monday, September 8, 2025, organized a capacity-building workshop on examination conduct and administration for academic staff, aimed at aligning the institution’s processes with global best practices.

The workshop, initiated by the Rector, Dr Victor Okolobah, was designed to overhaul existing examination procedures and ensure a secure, fair, and efficient process. Participants were taken through the three phases of examination management: pre-exam preparation, during-exam administration, and post-exam procedures.

In his presentation, Dr Noel Akos, Deputy Rector (Admin), delivered a lecture on the ethics, dos, and don’ts of invigilators and supervisors in examinations. He stressed the importance of discipline, neutrality, and vigilance during the examination process.

The Rector, Dr Victor Okolobah, also addressed the participants on the conduct and outlook of examinations at the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny. He emphasized that the institution must adopt globally recognized practices to maintain academic integrity and credibility.

According to the Public Relations Officer, Anthony Ogbe (SAR)(MCAI), the workshop reflects the Management’s commitment to capacity building and human capital development. He noted that the initiative is part of broader efforts to reposition the Polytechnic and ensure every aspect of its operations meets international standards.
