Federal Polytechnic Ukana Hosts Living Faith Church Teens on Educational Excursion

Federal Polytechnic Ukana, renowned for its commitment to youth empowerment and community engagement, recently welcomed teenagers from Living Faith Church, Ikot Ekpene Headquarters, as part of their ongoing Junior Bible School curriculum.

The visit, which took place on Thursday, August 7, 2025, brought the excited group of young learners to the Rector’s Conference Room at the Polytechnic’s Main Campus. The educational excursion was designed to give them first-hand exposure to life in a tertiary institution and inspire their future academic ambitions.

Representing the Rector, Amb. (Mrs) Eduma Enobong Essien, the Registrar, Mr. Jeremiah Jeremiah Akpabio, described the visit as a commendable and visionary step by the church. He explained that the Polytechnic readily accepted the request because it aligned with the institution’s mission of promoting access to education and nurturing the next generation of scholars.

“When the letter for this visit came to my desk, I was quick to accept it because I knew it was a step in the right direction,” Akpabio said. “I hope everyone here takes full advantage of this opportunity to learn and make informed decisions thereafter.”

The Polytechnic granted the teens access to key facilities, workshops, and academic departments, with dedicated staff guiding them through the tour. According to the Registrar, the aim was to help the students visualize their future and appreciate the possibilities that education can offer.

“This visit is not just a tour; it is a window into your future. Picture the kind of future you want to feature in, and let this experience be your first step towards it,” he added.

Leading the visiting team, Pastor Mrs. Diana Blossom Okoye, wife of the Resident Pastor of Living Faith Church, Ikot Ekpene Headquarters, expressed gratitude to the Polytechnic for the warm reception. She said the purpose of the excursion was to complement the children’s spiritual training with exposure to academic life and the benefits of higher education.

“Some of these children are still undecided about their future careers, while others are disillusioned about the importance of furthering their education. This excursion was carefully planned to open their minds and give them clarity,” she said. “The ultimate goal is to raise godly and educated children.”
