The Centre for Arid Zone and Wetlands Ecology (CAWE) at the Federal University Dutse (FUD) has announced a strategic collaboration with the Wildlife Unit of Aminu Kano International Airport to enhance staff training and research initiatives in aviation safety.
This partnership was solidified during a visit by a CAWE delegation, led by the Centre’s Director and renowned bird expert, along with heads of various specialized units, including Entomology, Parasitology and Public Health, Plant Ecology, and Gender Equality.
The collaboration aims to strengthen aviation safety through ecological research and training programs focused on mitigating wildlife hazards at the airport. Given that safety is paramount in the aviation industry and never compromised, the initiative is expected to enhance measures that prevent bird strikes and other wildlife-related risks that could impact flight operations.
By combining expertise in ecology and aviation safety, the partnership will not only contribute to research-driven solutions but also reinforce the critical role of environmental management in ensuring smooth airport operations.
