Federal University Lokoja Seeks Support from Tuyil Pharmaceutical Industry for Proposed Faculty of Pharmacy

The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, embarked on a visit to Tuyil Pharmaceutical Industry Ltd to explore collaboration and assistance for the establishment of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the university. Tuyil Pharmaceutical Industry Ltd, a prominent player in Nigeria's pharmaceutical sector, is based in Ilorin, Kwara State.

During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor secured the full support of the management of Tuyil Pharmaceutical Industry Ltd, with a formal commitment to realizing the objective of establishing the Faculty of Pharmacy at FUL.

It is worth noting that FUL's University Management had previously revealed plans to introduce the Doctor of Pharmacy program as one of the new courses to be offered by the institution starting in 2024.

Professor Akinwumi reiterated his dedication to the successful launch of the Pharmacy program at FUL during the visit. This collaboration between the university and the pharmaceutical industry is seen as a significant step toward achieving this goal.

The Faculty of Pharmacy, once established, will enhance the university's offerings and contribute to the growth and development of healthcare education in Nigeria.
