Police in Gujarat, India, have arrested five individuals after an assault on international students at Gujarat University during Ramadan prayers. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, stemmed from a dispute over the location of the prayer.

According to reports, a group of about two dozen people entered the university hostel, where the students were offering prayers, and demanded that they pray in a mosque instead. When the students refused, an argument ensued, leading to a physical altercation.

As a result of the altercation, five students sustained injuries and were treated at a local hospital. The arrested individuals have been identified as Hitesh Mewada, Bharat Patel, Shitij Pandey, Jitendra Patel, and Sunil Dudhirua.
