FPOG Bonny Launches First Institutional News Bulletin, Ekere
The Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas (FPOG), Bonny, has unveiled its first-ever institutional news bulletin, Ekere, in a move aimed at strengthening communication, documenting institutional achievements and promoting the activities of the Polytechnic.

The quarterly publication was formally presented to the Management of the Polytechnic on Thursday, August 6, 2026, by the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Francis Atta Egu, as part of the institution’s efforts to enhance information dissemination, promote academic excellence and project its achievements to the wider public.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, the Rector of FPOG, Dr. Victor Okolobah, described the launch of Ekere as a significant milestone in the development of the Polytechnic.
Dr. Okolobah stated that the bulletin would serve as a reliable platform for sharing campus news, official information and notable achievements of staff and students, while also contributing to the development of a stronger institutional identity.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to advancing the Polytechnic in all areas towards becoming a globally recognised institution with a reputation for academic excellence.
The Rector assured members of staff that innovative and beneficial ideas capable of contributing to the growth and development of the Polytechnic would continue to be encouraged, explored and implemented.
According to him, effective information and communication management remains central to institutional growth, as it helps streamline workflows, eliminate information gaps, improve decision-making, promote collaboration among stakeholders and enhance operational transparency.
The introduction of Ekere is also expected to provide students with valuable practical experience in writing, editing and photography, while serving as a lasting record of the institution’s activities, progress and milestones.
