Nigerian entrepreneur Mrs. Joyce Dayser Adams has achieved a significant academic milestone by earning a Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Middlesex University, four years after losing her auto shop in Wuye, Abuja, to a controversial demolition. he graduated last month with a Master’s degree in Mechatronic Systems Engineering from Middlesex University.
Nigerian entrepreneur Mrs. Joyce Dayser Adams has achieved a significant academic milestone by earning a Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Middlesex University, four years after losing her auto shop in Wuye, Abuja, to a controversial demolition.
Mrs. Adams' auto shop, which was not only a business but also a training ground where she provided free automotive training for women, was demolished on March 14, 2020.

The demolition occurred despite a court order granting her ownership of the land and a restraining order against the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) and its associated security agencies. The demolition, carried out by FCDA with assistance from the police, VIO, NSCDC, and other security personnel, left Mrs. Adams devastated and heartbroken over the loss of her shop and its assets.

In the face of this setback, Mrs. Adams demonstrated remarkable resilience. She decided to relocate to the United Kingdom to pursue further education and to keep her dreams alive. Four years after the demolition, her perseverance has paid off. She graduated last month with a Master’s degree in Mechatronic Systems Engineering from Middlesex University.
