FULAFIA Emphasizes Mentorship for Academic Success
Professor Ilemona Adofu, Director of Academic Planning at Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), has underscored the significance of effective mentorship for postgraduate students to achieve academic success.

Speaking at an interactive forum organized by the Department of Economics, Adofu stressed the need for guidance in navigating academic pursuits. "If you want to succeed in academics, you must have a mentor," he said. "Nobody will teach you unless you have a mentor."
The event, held at the Social Sciences Lecture Room, Mallam Adamu Adamu Hall, Permanent Site Campus, marked the first departmental postgraduate academic forum of the University.
Dr. Walter O. Ugwuoke, Head of the Department of Economics, presented a paper titled "Academic Mentorship: A Guide for Academic Excellence," outlining the fundamental qualities of a good mentor, including availability, approachability, flexibility, active listening, objectivity, and straightforwardness.

The forum emphasized the importance of mentorship in achieving academic excellence and encouraged students to seek guidance from experienced mentors.
