FULafia Hosts 32nd Inaugural Lecture Series

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) recently hosted its 32nd Inaugural Lecture Series, featuring Prof. Elijah Ojochonu Okpanachi, a Professor of Social and Political Philosophy.

The lecture, titled "The Paradox of Unsocial Sociability of Man: The Root of Terrorism. " The lecture was attended by top management staff, security agencies, colleagues, friends, family members, and students.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, described inaugural lectures as a cherished academic tradition that provides a platform for newly appointed professors to share their research findings and scholarly contributions. He noted that the tradition, which originated at the University of Oxford in 1623, has become a respected marker of academic growth and intellectual culture in universities worldwide.

Prof. Abdul Rahman commended the Inaugural Lecture Committee for sustaining the tradition at FULafia and expressed happiness that the university has developed an Inaugural Lecture Policy, which has led to the delivery of 31 inaugural lectures in the last four years.
