FULafia registrar says secretaries crucial to effective service delivery
The Registrar, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Malam Nuradeen Abdu, has said that secretaries are crucial to effective service delivery in any organisation.
Abdu stated this during a training workshop organised for confidential secretaries in FULafia which was held at the Permanent Site Campus of the University.

Represented by Dr Abubakar Hassan Ahmed II, the Head of Quality Assurance of the University, the registrar said that confidential secretaries provide specialised clerical, administrative and secretarial support services to executives and other senior personnel in the organisation, noting that their roles require utmost confidentiality and discretion.
He said that because of the sensitive nature of the duties performed by confidential secretaries, there was a need to enhance their capacity through training and retraining.
He urged the secretaries to pay attention to the resource person and put to use lessons learnt from the training to make difference in their workplaces.
In his presentation during the three-day training tagged: "Performance improvement in secretarial Administration for effective service Delivery,” the resource person, Prof. S. S. Amoor, stated that confidential secretaries carry out essential functions in ensuring smooth operations and effective communication within the organisation.
He said that the training was aimed at improving the ways secretaries could perform their duties flawlessly without default and with prestige.
He reminded them that as secretaries they were the lifewire of the University because they serve as vital link among the executive, staff members , community and clients.
The training centred on the philosophy and concept of confidential secretaries, enhancement in secretarial functions, importance of office secretarial practices amongst various important topics.
Participants were awarded certificates at the end of the training.
