FULafia Vice Chancellor lauds ANUPA for promoting values of FULafia

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has lauded the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), FULafia Chapter, for promoting the University's core values of integrity, innovation, and excellence.

Abdul Rahman spoke when he declared open the Ninth Annual Training Series of ANUPA, FULafia Chapter, with the theme: "Embracing Change: Inspiring Excellence in University Administration."

He noted that the world was changing very fast in terms of technology, attitude and physical appearance, saying that the  University must catch up with developments in the areas.

He said that the prevailing changes called for institutions, organisations, associations and groups to build capacities of their members to meet the challenges of the changing world

He reminded the members of ANUPA that as administrators,  they were the face and image makers of the University, calling on them to use the training to improve their personalities and their jobs.

He admonished the participants to listen to the resource persons and make valuable contributions during the training which, he pointed out, was organised to add value to themselves and the institution.

In his address, the Registrar of FULafia and Patron of ANUPA, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, thanked the association for sustaining the annual training series despite numerous challenges confronting it.

He expressed his gratitude to the resource persons all of whom were registrars of higher education institutions for creating time to share their knowledge and wealth of experience with younger administrators in FULafia.

He challenged the administrators to be innovative in meeting the new challenges brought about by technology.

The topics presented at the training included: 

The Role of Innovation in Transforming Nigerian Public University Administration,” presented by Dr Rejoice James Songden, the Registrar, University of Jos, Plateau State, and “Navigating Attitudinal Change: Strategies for University Professional Administrators Towards Job Satisfaction,” presented by Dr. Muhammad Jamil Zakari, Registrar, Federal College of Education (Technical), Keana, Nasarawa State.

The Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) is the brainchild of the Association of Registrars of Nigerian Universities (ARNU). 

The body is charged with the responsibility of training of young administrators and equipping them with the requisite skills to facilitate the provision of adequate and sufficient administrative support for academic excellence.
