The Students' Representative Council (SRC) of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has warned admission aspirants of an ongoing admission fraud targeting prospective students. According to the SRC, fake admission letters are being issued by scammers, preying on students eager to gain admission into the university.
In its statement, the SRC clarified that the admission process for the 2023/2024 academic session has not yet commenced, and any claims of admission offers or requests for payments are false.
The SRC advised prospective students to stay safe by:
- Avoiding payments to unauthorized individuals or accounts;
- Verifying information only through the university's official channels;
- Remaining cautious of suspicious calls, emails, or messages claiming admission offers; and
- Reporting any fraudulent activities to the university authorities.
The SRC emphasized the importance of staying informed and urged aspirants to rely only on official updates from the Federal University of Lafia to avoid falling victim to these scams.
