FULafia to Partner with ANAN University on Training and Research in Accounting
Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) is set to collaborate with ANAN University for enhanced training and research opportunities in accounting.
Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) is gearing up for a significant collaboration with the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) University to advance training and research in the field of accounting. This partnership aims to leverage ANAN University's expertise and resources to benefit FULafia's students.
ANAN University, known for its excellence in accountancy and related subjects, hosted a FULafia delegation at its Lafia facility, which is set to be handed over to FULafia upon the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions. Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, acknowledged the development and expressed the university's ongoing commitment to forming partnerships that enhance academic and research opportunities.
"This collaboration aligns with our vision of equipping students with practical and advanced knowledge in accounting. We’re pleased with this step forward," said Prof. Abdul Rahman. He thanked ANAN University's leadership for making their facilities available for FULafia's students.
Dr. Tijani Ahmed Ajayi, Head of FULafia's Accounting Department, emphasized the wide-ranging potential of this partnership. "Once the MoU is signed, we anticipate unfolding activities that will provide a comprehensive learning experience for our students," he stated.
Prof. Sama'ila Usman Dakyes, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Partnerships, and Prof. Aleruchi Chuku, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, also expressed their support, highlighting the value this collaboration will add to FULafia’s academic offerings.
The delegation, led by Dr. Ajayi, toured ANAN University's Accounting Knowledge and Research Opportunity (AKARO) Centre, where they discussed the benefits this collaboration could bring to FULafia's focus on accounting technology.
The visit included several key members from FULafia, such as Dr. Musa Bashir Agbawu, special assistant to the vice-chancellor, and Dr. Alhassan Abdulkareem, Acting Director of the Centre for General Studies. The MoU signing is expected to formalize the partnership and pave the way for a strengthened accounting program at FULafia.
