Vice-Chancellor Shehu Abdul Rahman Encourages Discipline Among NAES Members
The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has admonished students to be determined, goal driven and disciplined "so that you can be successful in your studies.”
The vice-chancellor said that those who ended their studies successfully in FULafia were those who obeyed the rules and regulations of the University, urging them students to be guided by rules and regulations of the University so as not to be found wanting.

He commended the students for organising what he termed as a unique event.
Prof. Abdul Rahman spoke while declaring open the orientation programme of the National Association of Ebira Students (NAES), FULafia Chapter, held at the Faculty of Agriculture Lecture Theatre.
During the orientation, a paper titled: "Balancing Academics and other Extra-Curricular Activities-A Panacea to Success in the University," was presented by the Personal Secretary to the Vice-Chancellor, Mr Bashir Ozomata, who was represented at the event by Dr Alhassan Abdulkareem.
The presentation was centered on 'effective time management' in the University.

The Director of Environmental Safety of the University, Wing Commander Umar Muhammed Awe (rtd). enjoined the students not to join any secret cult, saying that there would be severe consequences in doing so.
He called on students to be security conscious and report any suspicious activities around them to the authorities.
Earlier, while welcoming participants to the occasion, the President of the NAES, Comrade Aliu Muhammed, said it was the first orientation programme organised by the association, thanking the vice-chancellor for finding time to grace the occasion.
He said: "Your presence here today is historic because it marks the beginning of a new era for the NAES, FULafia Chapter."
Mohammed said that the essence of the programme was to foster unity and solidarity among Ebira students in the University create a bigger and more dynamic community.
He said that the event was also organised to provide students the platform for self expression and leadership development, while empowering them to find a voice to make a positive impact in the society.

Highlights of the event was presentation of award of Excellence to the vice-chancellor and cultural dance.
Those who were present at the event included the Dean of the Management Science, Prof. Muhammad Isa Kida, the Deputy Dean and Head of Accounting Department, Dr Ahmed Tijani Ajayi, Director, FULafia Consult Limited, Dr Usman Ibrahim, and the Odeyani of Ebira in Lafia (Eyes of Ebira people in Lafia), Mall Sadiq Abubakar.
