FULOKOJA VC, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi Inaugurates Faculty of Engineering First SQ, Receives Award of Honour

On Monday, 29th September 2025, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, inaugurated the first Students Work Experience Programme (SWEP) 2024/2025 Session for 200-level students of the Faculty of Engineering, Federal University Lokoja, a historic beginning for the pioneer students of the Faculty aimed at equipping them with practical hands-on training, bridging theory and real-world engineering practice. 

Expected to last till October 24, 2025, the training programme was organised in compliance with the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) accreditation standards, providing opportunity for the students to gain practical knowledge in engineering profession. 

During the inauguration/orientation, the Faculty presented an Award of Honour to the Vice-Chancellor for his visionary leadership, particularly for establishing the Faculty of Engineering during his administration, and his commitment to its growth and sustainability.
