The Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta has commended the pace and quality of ongoing infrastructure projects following an inspection tour across the campus on April 13, 2026.

Leading the delegation, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, expressed satisfaction with the level of progress recorded at multiple construction sites, describing the developments as a reflection of strong institutional leadership and effective project execution.

Projects inspected during the visit include the Council Lodge, a swimming pool facility, a multi-storey administrative complex, the College of Computing Sciences building, and Phase II of the Veterinary Anatomy Laboratory.

Olabomi noted that although the projects commenced earlier in the year, they have advanced significantly within a short timeframe. He praised contractors for maintaining high standards while acknowledging that some components remain at finishing stages. He reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to ensuring timely delivery without compromising quality.

He also highlighted the strategic importance of the projects, noting that they are designed to improve administrative efficiency and support academic and governance functions within the university. According to him, the facilities will provide a more conducive and accessible environment for staff, stakeholders, and visitors.

The Pro-Chancellor added that the Council is actively addressing key considerations to ensure the long-term functionality and sustainability of the projects upon completion, emphasizing continued support for initiatives that enhance institutional productivity.

The inspection underscores the Council’s backing of the Vice-Chancellor, Babatunde Kehinde, particularly in advancing infrastructure development across the university.

Council members, alongside senior university officials, participated in the inspection exercise, which is expected to translate into improved administrative operations, enhanced recreational facilities, and better support for high-level institutional engagements once the projects are completed.
