FUNAAB Offers Free Eye and Dental Screening for Senior Staff
The Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta has announced a free visual and oral screening programme for selected categories of staff as part of efforts to improve workplace health and early medical intervention.
The Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta has announced a free visual and oral screening programme for selected categories of staff as part of efforts to improve workplace health and early medical intervention.

The two-week exercise will run from March 9 to March 20, 2026, according to a memo issued by the Acting Director of the Directorate of Health Services, Dr. Oluseyi Anjorin.
Dr. Anjorin explained that the initiative was introduced after the University observed that many staff members were struggling to access specialist care at secondary health facilities across the state. He noted that official duties and the cost of transportation had forced several staff to miss medical appointments, leading to worsening eye and dental conditions.
The screening programme, approved by the Vice-Chancellor Babatunde Kehinde, will prioritise key categories of university staff. Those eligible include principal officers of the institution, deans, directors, professors, heads of departments and units, as well as staff on CONTISS 13 and above.
According to the Directorate of Health Services, both visual and oral examinations will be provided free of charge during the exercise. However, some specialised procedures, including Intraoral Periapical (IOP) X-rays, dental scaling and polishing, will be offered at subsidised rates.
University officials say the programme is aimed at encouraging early diagnosis, improving staff wellbeing, and reducing the health risks associated with untreated eye and dental conditions among senior personnel.
