FUNAAB Pro-Chancellor Applauds Pace and Quality of Ongoing Infrastructural Projects
The 8th Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), under the leadership of the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, HRM, Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, has restated its strong support for the ongoing infrastructural transformation of the University, even as he commended the pace and quality of work during an inspection tour of projects on campus today, April 13, 2026.
The Projects are the Council Lodge, Swimming Pool, Multi-Storey Administrative Complex, College of Computing Sciences (COLCOMPS) Building and the Veterinary Anatomy Laboratory Phase II.
Leading the Council on the inspection, the Pro-Chancellor expressed satisfaction with the steady progress recorded on the various construction sites, describing the developments as a testament to the visionary leadership and infrastructural strides of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, and the collective commitment of the University Management.
Oba Olabomi noted that although the projects commenced earlier in the year, they have already attained advanced stages within a relatively short period. He lauded the contractors for maintaining high standards, while acknowledging that some aspects would still require finishing touches before completion. He emphasised that the Council remained resolute in ensuring that all projects are delivered on schedule without compromising quality.
The Pro-Chancellor further highlighted that the facilities under construction were strategically designed to enhance administrative efficiency, particularly in relation to academic and Council activities. He added that the structure would provide a more conducive, welcoming, and accessible environment for staff, stakeholders, and visitors to the University.

He disclosed that the Council was actively engaging in discussions to address critical considerations that would guarantee the functionality and sustainability of the projects upon completion. According to him, the Governing Council is fully committed to supporting initiatives that promote effective administration and a productive institutional environment.
The inspection exercise highlighted the 8th Governing Council’s backing of the Vice-Chancellor’s development agenda, especially in the area of infrastructural growth and expansion across the University.
Upon completion, the projects are expected to significantly enhance administrative efficiency, facilitate recreational activities, and provide comfort for Council members, coordination, and other high-level engagements within the University.
The Pro-Chancellor was accompanied on the visit by the Vice-Chancellor, alongside both internal and external members of the Governing Council, among many Frontline Officers of the University.
