In a compassionate initiative aimed at supporting indigent students during the commencement of the first-semester examinations, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), donated essential food items.

In a thoughtful gesture aimed at addressing food insecurity among indigent students during examination periods, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, has initiated a donation drive to provide essential food items.

The donation, comprising rice, sweet potatoes, spaghetti, garri, tomato paste, and more, totaling 50 packs, was distributed to students to ensure they have adequate nourishment throughout the First Semester Examination Period, which commenced on April 2, 2024.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, the Dean of the College of Biosciences, Prof. Iyabode Kehinde, highlighted the importance of responsibly utilizing the donated items, underscoring the administration's dedication to student welfare.

Prof. Kehinde clarified that while the donation coincided with the First Anniversary of the Vice-Chancellor's assumption of duty, it was not part of the celebratory activities. He commended the Student Affairs Division for facilitating the distribution and wished the students success in their examinations.

Acknowledging the Vice-Chancellor's benevolence, the Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Festus Adeosun, praised the gesture, recognizing its significant impact, particularly amidst financial constraints faced by many students.

In a further demonstration of solidarity, Mrs. Olukemi Fashina, founder of the NGO, Lakem Global Foundation, contributed additional food items, reinforcing the University's commitment to supporting its students during challenging times.
