FUTA Announces 36th Convocation Lecture to be Delivered by Prince Adetokunbo Kayode

The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has announced that Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, will deliver the 36th Convocation Lecture on Friday, 14th November 2025.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, disclosed that Prince Kayode, who also previously served as Minister of Labour and Productivity, will address the graduating students on the topic: “Strategies and Tactics for Solving Skills Challenges in Nigeria: The Roles of Government, Institutions and the Youth.”

Professor Oladiji highlighted that convocation lectures are designed specifically for graduating students and noted that this year’s lecture would be delivered on the same day as the award presentation of degrees to 2,747 graduands to ensure maximum participation and benefit. She stated that the lecture would equip the students with practical insights to tackle challenges they may encounter after graduation.

“For the second time in FUTA’s history, the convocation lecture will coincide with the award ceremony so that most graduands can be present and gain from the insights shared,” Professor Oladiji said, emphasizing that the university hopes the lecture will inspire the youth as they transition to the next phase of their lives.
