The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has appointed Professor Mojisola Udoh as the Acting Dean of its School of Basic Clinical Sciences.

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has appointed Professor Mojisola Udoh as the Acting Dean of its School of Basic Clinical Sciences.

Professor Udoh is a renowned academic and clinician in Anatomic Pathology, with specialised expertise in Neuropathology and Gastrointestinal Pathology. She is a Professor at the University of Benin and an Honorary Consultant at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, where she combines clinical service with teaching and research.

Her academic background includes an MBBS degree from the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, as well as Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and Membership of the West African College of Physicians. She has also undergone advanced specialist training at institutions including University College London and has participated in numerous international workshops and conferences.

Professor Udoh has held several leadership and administrative positions, including Head of the Department of Pathology, Postgraduate Coordinator and Head of the Neuropathology Unit. She has also served as General Secretary of the College of Nigerian Pathologists (Edo/Delta Chapter) and as an examiner for national postgraduate medical colleges and external universities.

As a teacher and mentor, she has supervised undergraduate and postgraduate students, guiding research in areas such as molecular oncology and infectious disease pathology. Her teaching experience spans general and systemic pathology, as well as practical training in autopsy and surgical pathology.

She has published over 30 scholarly articles in reputable local and international peer-reviewed journals, with research contributions focusing on intracranial and gastrointestinal tumours, autopsy practice and disease patterns in Nigeria. Professor Udoh is a member of several professional bodies, including the International Academy of Pathology and the International Society on Neuropathology.

Her appointment is expected to strengthen academic leadership and advance clinical sciences and medical education at FUTA.
