FUTA Appoints Professor Christopher Akinbile as New Dean for SIMME

The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has appointed Professor Christopher Akinbile as the new Dean of the School of Infrastructural, Minerals, and Manufacturing Engineering (SIMME). The appointment, which takes effect from August 1, 2025, is for a term of two years.

Professor Akinbile hails from the Department of Agricultural Engineering and has been elected by the School's Board of Studies. His appointment was approved by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji.

As Dean, Professor Akinbile is expected to provide leadership and direction to the School, driving its academic and research agenda forward .
