Students at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) in Ondo State are commending the quality of education and level of security on campus, emphasizing that the school is free from cultist activities.
This comes in the wake of a recent incident at the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), where cultists disrupted final exams, pulled out a graduating student, and fatally shot him.

One FUTA student stated, "If you didn’t attend a cultist-infested school, you don’t know what God did for you. God bless FUTA once again." Another student recounted their experience during orientation, saying, "God bless FUTA. I remember vividly during 100 level Orientation, some ex-cultists were brought to address us on ways to avoid being cultists."
The students at FUTA expressed admiration for the institution's ability to remain relatively cult-free. One student remarked, "How FUTA has managed to stay relatively cultist-free needs to be studied because the university has been predominantly male for a long time." They further praised the campus environment, saying, "You can walk around the school at any time of the day without fear of being victimized."

Reflecting on the history of the university, a student noted, "FUTA has always been a private university running under the disguise of a public university. Even in the 90s and early 2000s when the school had a predominantly male student population, there were no reports of cultist activities. The trend continued in the late 2000s when the school began favoring female students."
FUTA’s commitment to maintaining a secure and conducive learning environment has garnered praise from its student body.
