The Student Representative Council (SRC) at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike has suspended the students' union president, Chijioke Emmanuel. The decision was reached during the third ordinary sitting of the SRC, held on July 6, 2024.

The allegations against Emmanuel are serious and multifaceted. The SRC, in a letter addressed to key university officials and security agencies, accused him of the following:

  • Misappropriation of Union Funds: Emmanuel allegedly mishandled the union's financial resources, leading to suspicions of financial irregularities.
  • Forgery: The SRC claims that Emmanuel engaged in forgery, although specific details about the forged documents have not been disclosed.
