FUTA Launches Miniature Satellite for Space Technology Development
FUTA has launched a miniature satellite, CanSat, to promote space technology and engineering development. Oluwafemi Daramola, a Year 5 Electrical and Electronics Engineering student, led the project, showcasing the satellite’s capabilities on October 7, 2024.

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has launched a miniature satellite, known as CanSat, as part of its efforts to advance space technology and engineering development.
Oluwafemi Daramola, a Year 5 Electrical and Electronics Engineering student and the Team Lead for CanSat FUTA, explained the significance of the launch during a demonstration on Monday, October 7, 2024. CanSat is a satellite simulation designed to provide hands-on experience in space technology, fostering innovation and research among students at FUTA.
