FUTA Warns Against Fraudsters Targeting 2024/2025 Admission Process

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has alerted the public about fraudsters who are falsely claiming to offer admission for the 2024/2025 academic session. The university emphasized that all admissions are managed through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and are strictly merit-based.

FUTA Warns Against Fraudsters Targeting 2024/2025 Admission Process

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has issued a strong warning to the public regarding the activities of fraudsters attempting to exploit the 2024/2025 admission process. According to a statement signed by FUTA's Registrar, C.O. Adeleye, the institution has become aware of individuals falsely claiming to offer admission slots in exchange for money.

FUTA emphasized that admission into the university, like other tertiary institutions in Nigeria, is conducted solely through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The entire process is closely monitored, ensuring it remains immune to internal and external manipulation. Currently, the university is only registering candidates who wish to be considered for the upcoming session, and no admissions have been offered at this stage.

The institution strongly cautioned candidates, parents, and guardians against falling victim to scammers offering fake admissions or asking for payment to influence the process. Admission into FUTA is strictly based on merit, and any attempt to manipulate or influence the process will not be tolerated.

The Registrar urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with individuals or groups claiming they can help secure admission for money.
