FUTA’s Prof. Adedayo Ademiluyi Elected Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences
The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has celebrated a significant achievement as Professor Adedayo Oluwaseun Ademiluyi, from the Department of Biochemistry, was elected a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences (FAAS).
The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) has celebrated a significant achievement as Professor Adedayo Oluwaseun Ademiluyi, from the Department of Biochemistry, was elected a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences (FAAS).
The election follows a rigorous multi-level review and endorsement process conducted by the AAS Membership Advisory Committees, Fellows, and the Governing Council of the Academy. The announcement of the 2025 Fellows was made during the Science Forum South Africa (SFSA), held virtually in Pretoria on November 24, 2025. Prof. Ademiluyi officially informed the FUTA Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, FAS, in a letter dated December 2, 2025.

Prof. Ademiluyi described the fellowship as a “significant continental recognition of scientific excellence” and reiterated his commitment to advancing FUTA’s research profile and enhancing the University’s global visibility. He stated, “I am honored to receive this continental recognition, and I remain committed to advancing the research profile and global visibility of the University through this new responsibility.”
In response, Vice Chancellor Prof. Oladiji congratulated Prof. Ademiluyi, commending him for further elevating FUTA’s prestige.
