FUTIA Hosts NAEAP Akwa Ibom Chapter, Seals Commitment to Capacity Building and Institutional Collaboration

The visit, which took place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the university’s Takeoff Campus, had the Vice-Chancellor, Leo Daniel, and other principal officers in attendance.
Leading the delegation, the State Coordinator of the association, Dr Princewill Egwuasi, congratulated the university management on their appointments and expressed confidence in their capacity to drive transformational leadership in academics, administration, research, and technology.
He commended the smooth takeoff of the institution and reaffirmed the association’s readiness to support FUTIA through strategic collaboration in human capital development, training programmes, and resource enhancement for improved service delivery.
According to the association, the visit was anchored on three key objectives: commendation of the university’s developmental progress under its pioneer management, advocacy for formal membership and engagement with the professional body to access training opportunities, and information sharing regarding its forthcoming annual national conference for educational administrators and stakeholders.

The association also pledged continued collaboration with the university in areas of mutual academic and professional interest.
In his response, Vice-Chancellor Leo Daniel appreciated the association’s visit and described it as a timely intervention aligned with the university’s capacity-building agenda.
He noted that FUTIA remains open to partnerships with credible professional bodies that can support staff development and enhance institutional effectiveness in line with its mission, vision, and global competitiveness goals.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that sustained collaboration would contribute significantly to strengthening administrative efficiency and advancing the university’s aspiration to compete favourably with leading institutions globally.
The Registrar, Offiongita E. Nkang, in her vote of thanks, expressed appreciation to the association for the visit and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to future collaboration in relevant areas.
Other principal officers present included the University Bursar, represented by Mrs Ikemesit Aniefiok, and the University Librarian, represented by Dr Columbus Udofot.
The NAEAP delegation also included key officials such as State Secretary Jane Michael, Assistant Secretary Mrs Eugenia Nnamdi, Dr Edidiong Umoh, Mrs Imaobong Umoette, and Mrs Anthonia Umoh.

The engagement concluded with both parties expressing optimism about sustained partnership aimed at improving educational administration and institutional effectiveness in Nigeria’s higher education system.
