Gombe State University Acting Vice-Chancellor Receives Courtesy Visit from Community of Persons with Disabilities

Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, Acting Vice-Chancellor of Gombe State University (GSU), received a courtesy visit from the community of persons with disabilities at the university.

The delegation, comprising staff and students, was led by Malam Ishaku Adamu, Executive Secretary of the Gombe State Persons with Disabilities Commission, and Malam Shuaibu Muhammed, the University's Persons with Disabilities Desk Officer.

During the visit, Malam Ishaku Adamu and Arafat, President of the Students with Disabilities Association, commended Professor Yauta's outstanding contributions to persons with disabilities during his tenure as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and his innovative approach to addressing their concerns as Ag. Vice-Chancellor.

 

Professor Yauta expressed his gratitude for the goodwill and support shown by the group, emphasizing the university's commitment to inclusivity in education. He pledged to implement policies and infrastructural improvements aimed at enhancing accessibility and support for persons with disabilities on campus.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor also lauded Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for signing the Disability Bill into law and establishing the Persons with Disabilities Commission, positioning Gombe State as a leader in disability advocacy. He assured the delegation that GSU would align with the state's vision to ensure inclusivity for all.

 

The visit concluded with prayers for Professor Yauta's success and the continued growth of Gombe State University.
