Gombe State University ASUU Suspends Indefinite Strike Action

.The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at Gombe State University has officially suspended its total, comprehensive, and indefinite strike action that began on September 11, 2024. This decision was reached during a Congress meeting held on October 24, 2024.

The suspension follows a review of ongoing negotiations between the state government’s negotiation committee and the university's ASUU branch. The Congress expressed satisfaction with the agreement signed with the state government, leading to the unanimous resolution to end the strike with immediate effect.

This development marks a significant step towards resuming normal academic activities at Gombe State University, which had been disrupted for over a month due to the strike.
