Gombe State University Conducts Orientation for New Faculty Members

Gombe State University (GSU) has organized an orientation program for newly appointed staff of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at its Dukku Campus.

The event, which took place on December 16, 2024, was attended by dignitaries including the Chairman of Dukku Local Government Area, Hon. Adamu Mohammed Waziri, and the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta.

During the orientation, the Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Dr. Bashir Usman Muhammed, expressed gratitude to the university administration for its support and urged the new staff to dedicate themselves to the institution's mission. The Registrar, Dr. Abubakar Aliyu Bafeto, appealed to the local government to address accommodation challenges at the campus, which was assured by Hon. Adamu Mohammed Waziri.

The program featured a keynote session by Professor Muhammad Gurama Dukku, Dean of Postgraduate Studies, who delivered a comprehensive overview of GSU's ethos, policies, and work ethics. Additional presentations were made by other faculty members, emphasizing the importance of professionalism, dedication, and ethical conduct in achieving the university's mission and vision.

 

The establishment of the GSU Dukku Campus marks a significant milestone in the development of education in the region, with Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya's administration making substantial investments in education, including the transfer of a state facility in Dukku to GSU.
