Gombe State University Honors Professors Abdullahi Mahadi and Sani Ahmed Yauta for Outstanding Contributions to Islamic Research and Development

In a prestigious ceremony, Gombe State University, in collaboration with the General Authority of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Libya, honored late Professor Abdullahi Mahadi and Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta with awards for their remarkable contributions to Islamic research and development.
The ceremony, which took place on February 24, 2025, was part of the closing event of a workshop organized by the International Institute of Islamic Research and Development (IIIRD). Late Professor Abdullahi Mahadi was posthumously recognized for his selfless efforts in establishing and funding the institute from his personal resources until his passing.
Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Gombe State University, was honored for his dedication to reviving the center, ensuring its optimal functionality, and supporting the workshop. His significant impact on the university since assuming office was also acknowledged.
In his remarks, Professor Yauta emphasized the importance of workshops, conferences, and international collaborations in shaping a world-class university. He stated, "There is no university without workshops, conferences, and seminars. International collaborations are key, and Gombe State University welcomes and will always welcome partnerships that enhance academic excellence and research development."
Both honorees expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the recognition and pledged continued support for the institution's growth. The event was attended by dignitaries, including General Isa Mahadi, who represented his late father, Professor Abdullahi Mahadi.
