 His Excellency, Governor Umaru Muhammad Bago of Niger State, has urged the 2024 Batch B Stream II Corps Members to view their national service as a valuable opportunity to contribute significantly to the development of key sectors within the state.

The Governor, represented by Dr. Nuhu Garba Ngaski, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Youth and Sports Development, made this call during the formal opening and swearing-in ceremony of the Orientation Course at the Paiko Orientation Camp today.

Governor Bago emphasized the importance of using this service period to make a meaningful impact. He advised the Corps Members to avoid actions that could disrupt peace and stability, advocating instead for constructive dialogue as a fundamental approach to conflict resolution and national progress.

He also encouraged the Corps Members to engage actively in the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program, which is designed to help them develop practical skills for a brighter future.

In his remarks, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Gawu, Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the NYSC Niger State Governing Board, represented by Alhaji Abdullahi Idris Legbo, Permanent Secretary of the SSG's Office, congratulated the Corps Members on their academic achievements. He urged them to respect authorities and participate zealously in camp activities, which are aimed at enhancing their personal development.

Mrs. Abdulwahab Olayinka, Coordinator of NYSC Niger State, reminded the Corps Members of the importance of the oath of allegiance, which is expected to guide their conduct throughout their service year and influence their lives beyond the service.

The ceremony concluded with the Chief Judge of Niger State administering the oath of allegiance to the new Corps Members, marking the official commencement of their national service.

This opening ceremony underscored the NYSC’s commitment to fostering national development and personal growth among the Corps Members as they embark on their service journey.
