Gunmen Abduct Acting Rector and 2 Staff from Benue State Polytechnic

In a brazen abduction incident, gunmen seized Dr. Emmanuel Barki, the acting Rector of Benue State Polytechnic, along with two other management staff and their driver. The abduction occurred on Thursday along the Otukpo/Otukpa Road as they were returning to Ugbokolo from an official assignment in Makurdi, the state capital.
Sources indicate that one of the victims was released due to health concerns, leaving the acting Rector and two others still in captivity.
Community concern over the incident has prompted responses from local leaders. Augustine Leva, the immediate past Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Benue State chapter, visited Dr. Barki's family on Friday. He offered prayers and urged swift action for the safe return of all abductees.
