Havilah Publishers led by its Managing Director, Akoogun Lanre Adesuyi donates textbooks to the library of the Federal University of Technology, Akure as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. 

The Management of Havilah Publishers led by its Managing Director, Akoogun Lanre Adesuyi, has donated textbooks to the library of the Federal University of Technology, Akure as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. The donation was made during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

Adesuyi who had operated book shop in the university years back said coming to FUTA again is a great privilege and an opportunity to rekindle old flames. He said he is hoping that the partnership been groomed with the university would yield bumper dividend and engender a win-win situation for everybody. He thanked the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji for creating a very welcoming and conducive reception for them and promised that more of such collaborations will be witnessed.

Responding, Professor Adenike Oladiji represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Professor Taiwo Amos said she gladly welcome partnership describing it as a divine arrangement. She said the Library is an integral part of the institution and assured the Havilah Group that the books donated will be put to very good use. Oladiji said it would be heartwarming if Havilah can come back and operate the bookshop in FUTA like they did in the past.

Corroborating the Chief Executive Officer of Havilah, the Executive Director, Mr. Biodun Olaniran said Havilah used to have a very strong presence in FUTA as the publishing company used to be in charge of stocking the only bookshop in FUTA for five years. He reiterated that FUTA is one of the best Universities Nigeria can pride itself with as far as academic excellence is concerned. Mr. Olaniran said institutions can’t function optimally as it should without a functional and well equipped library and bookshop by the side. He said Havilah publishers is ready to run as fast and at any pace FUTA wants during the course of the partnership.

Six cartons of educational textbooks were donated to FUTA for purpose of learning and scope widening.
