Jeremiah Armstead, a resilient 19-year-old homeless teenager, has defied the odds by earning a spot at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, United States, despite facing significant challenges.
Jeremiah's journey to academic success was marked by hardship as he, along with his mother, brother, and sister, experienced homelessness while residing in California. Despite the adversity, Jeremiah remained determined to pursue his education and excel both academically and athletically.

After three years of homelessness, Jeremiah received the life-changing news of his acceptance to Fisk University, a moment he described as all he ever needed in life—a chance to prove himself. Jeremiah's acceptance to Fisk University also comes with the opportunity to join the university's men's basketball team, where he will work alongside former LA Clippers basketball player Kenneth Anderson, who serves as the head coach. As Jeremiah embarks on his academic journey at Fisk University, he plans to major in Kinesiology while actively contributing to the university's basketball program.
