Professor Ozioma Bennett Orluwene, Director of University Press and Bookshop at Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt, has brought pride to the institution after receiving the prestigious Paul Kagame Medal of Honour for Transformational Leadership in Africa.

The honour, bestowed in Kigali, Rwanda, celebrates his remarkable contributions to scholarship, professional career development, and human capacity building. The recognition placed him among other eminent African scholars and personalities who were decorated for their impact on the continent.

As part of the accolades, Professor Orluwene was also named Distinguished Fellow of the African Institute of Public Administration. In addition, he received an Honorary Doctorate of Public Administration and a Postgraduate Certificate in Management (PgCMgt) awarded by the London Bridge Business School (LBBS).
A seasoned academic and administrator, Professor Orluwene’s recognition underscores his managerial dexterity, commitment to integrity, and innovative leadership that have defined his career. His achievements highlight his significant role in advancing public administration expertise and driving institutional success, marking him as a model for transformative leadership across Africa.

Professor Orluwene obtained his Doctorate degree in Public Administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He has served as Head of the Department of Political Science and later as Associate Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at IAUE. He has also held teaching and research appointments as sabbatical and adjunct staff at Niger Delta University.
Beyond his academic duties, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Resources and Scientific Management and has contributed to national scholarship as Assistant Secretary of the Nigerian Political Science Association (South-South Chapter). A prolific scholar, he has authored books, book chapters, and articles published in reputable journals.

This international recognition, announced in Kigali, was seen by colleagues and associates as a testament to Professor Orluwene’s unwavering dedication to academic excellence and leadership in public service.
