IPOB Sit-at-Home: Anambra Police Deploys Security To Schools
In a bid to ensure comprehensive security, the Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, yesterday reinforced the Joint Security Force, which includes the Army, Navy, Civil Defence, and other allied agencies, to tackle any security issues, particularly those related to the enforcement of the unlawful sit-at-home order in the state.
The Anambra State Police Command has announced the deployment of its Schools Protection Squad (SPS) to educational institutions in anticipation of today’s sit-at-home directive issued bythe Independent People Of Biafra (IPOB) to commemorate Biafra Day.

The Commissioner of Police specifically instructed the squad to safeguard the students who are currently taking the West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE), with the mathematics examination scheduled for today.

Describing the special squad's role, the CP emphasized its mandate to safeguard schools, students, and institutional infrastructure. Tochukwu Ikenga, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), conveyed in a statement that squad members have been furnished with necessary equipment and advanced training to proficiently tackle security challenges confronting educational institutions.
